Nissan & Infiniti KR5 Smart Keys: KR5S180144, KR5TXN by Year

Nissan and Infiniti smart keys since 2013 carry FCC IDs that start KR5: KR5S180144014 (2013–2018 Altima, Maxima, Pathfinder, Murano, Titan, Infiniti JX35/QX60, Q50/Q60 5-button; 433/434 MHz; 47 chip on 2013–2016 keys and 4A on 2015–2018), KR5S180144106 (2014–2021 Rogue and X-Trail, 4A chip), KR5S180144203 and KR5S180144204 (2014–2020 Infiniti Q50, Q60), and the KR5TXN3, KR5TXN4 and KR5TXN7 keys for 2018–2022 Kicks, Rogue, Altima, Sentra, Versa and Infiniti QX60. How to read a Nissan KR5 key: FCC ID versus S180144 number

Continental's KR5 grantee code appears on Nissan, Infiniti and Honda keys, so the FCC ID alone is not enough. The chip split matters for programming and for universals:

• 2007–2016 keys (KR55WK48903, CWTWB1U series, early KR5S180144014 rows) are listed with a PCF7952A / PCF7953X 46 or 47 chip (HITAG 2 or HITAG 3).
• 2014 onward Rogue keys and 2015+ Pathfinder, Murano, Titan, Altima and Maxima keys are listed with a PCF7953M or NCF29A1M 4A chip (HITAG AES).
• All KR5TXN keys are 4A.

KR5S180144203 and KR5S180144204: Infiniti Q50 and Q60 (2014–2020)

The Q50 launched with a 315 MHz key, KR5S180144203 (2014–2016, 4-button, PCF7953M 4A chip, PN 285E3-4HD0C, 285E3-4HD0A; product), then moved to 433 MHz with KR5S180144204 (2016–2020 Q50, Q60, 4-button, 4A chip, PN 285E3-4HB0C; product). The 5-button Q50/Q60 key of 2016–2020 is under KR5S180144014 (S180144210) in the table above. A 2016 Q50 can be either; verify against the vehicle.

KR5TXN3, KR5TXN4, KR5TXN7: 2018–2022 Nissan and Infiniti

The newest KR5 generation in the catalog. All 4A chip (NCF29A1M / HITAG AES), 433/434 MHz, aftermarket.

The earlier Nissan and Infiniti "Intelligent Key" fobs use 46-chip electronics (PCF7952A / HITAG 2) and mostly 315 MHz. They look different (the older oval shell) and are not interchangeable with KR5 keys.

No. In the catalog KR5V1X is the 2014–2017 Honda Odyssey smart key. The KR5 prefix belongs to the supplier, which is why it appears on both Honda and Nissan fobs.

Which Nissan KR5 keys use a 47 chip and which use 4A?

Can a 4-button Rogue key replace a 5-button one?
