Refund & Returns Policy
Straightforward, trade-friendly returns — and a guarantee that the part works or you don't pay.

We want you to buy with confidence. This policy explains how returns, replacements, and refunds work for orders placed with Car Key Source. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
The Car Key Source promise
Match the FCC ID, part number, or cross-reference and the part is guaranteed to fit. On keys and remotes, our programs-or-refunded guarantee means that if a correctly matched key won't program, a blank won't cut, or a part isn't right, we'll replace it or refund it. No restocking games.
1. Standard 30-day returns
You may return most items within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, provided they are unused, unprogrammed, uncut, and in their original packaging and resalable condition. Start every return with an RMA (see below) so we can route and credit it quickly.
2. How to start a return (RMA)
- Email the trade desk at info@carkeysource.com with your order number, the SKU(s), and the reason for the return.
- We'll issue an RMA number and return instructions. Please don't ship anything back before you have an RMA — unauthorized returns can be delayed or refused.
- Pack items securely in their original packaging and include the RMA number.
3. Defective or dead-on-arrival items
If an item is defective or arrives dead-on-arrival, we'll replace it at no cost to you, including return shipping. Report suspected defects promptly so we can make it right.
4. Non-returnable items
For safety, security, and warranty reasons, the following are non-returnable unless faulty:
- Keys or remotes that have been programmed to a vehicle.
- Keys or blanks that have been cut.
- Special-order or custom items.
- Items returned without original packaging, or not in resalable condition.
5. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll notify you and issue any approved refund to your original payment method. Refunds typically post within a few business days of approval, though the time to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer. Exchanges ship once the return is approved.
6. Return shipping costs
We cover return shipping for defective, dead-on-arrival, or mis-shipped items. For standard returns (for example, change-of-mind or ordering error), you are responsible for return shipping. We recommend a tracked method — we can't credit a return we don't receive.
7. Damaged or lost in transit
Inspect your shipment on arrival. If a package arrives damaged or an item is missing, contact us within a reasonable time with photos where possible so we can file a claim and send a replacement or refund.
