Lonsdor LT20, FO30, HD30 & NS30 Boards: Which One for Which Job

LT20 boards by Toyota generation, the KW100 programmer, FO30 vs FO3H frequencies, and every Lonsdor SKU in stock

Car Key Source Trade DeskSeptember 12, 2026 8 min read
Lonsdor LT20 smart key PCB boards and universal smart keys

Lonsdor's universal smart keys are sorted by the make style on the shell: LT20 boards are Toyota, Lexus and Subaru smart-key PCBs that the tool configures as an 8A, 4D or 8A-BA key depending on the vehicle generation; LT30 is the 4A-chip Toyota board for the newest systems; FO30 is the Ford-style key for 315/433 MHz vehicles and FO3H the same shell for 868/902 MHz; HD30 is Honda style, NS30 Nissan style, CL30 Chevrolet style, LK50 Chrysler style and BM3S-01 a BMW G-chassis board. Every one is generated with a Lonsdor tool for supported vehicles. LT20 boards can be generated on a K518 series programmer or the stand-alone KW100 Bluetooth programmer; the rest need the K518 series. Check the tool's vehicle list before you promise a key.

How the Lonsdor universal range is organised

Lonsdor names universal keys with a two-letter make code, a series number and a variant. FO30-05 is Ford style, series 30, variant 05. LT20-10-4 is the Lexus/Toyota series 20, generation 10, 4-button layout. The variant does not tell you the button count on its own, so read it off the listing.

LT20 and LT30 are bare circuit boards: you supply the shell, blade and CR2032. FO30, FO3H, HD30, NS30, CL30 and LK50 are complete keys in a make-style shell; the CL30-01 listing includes an aftermarket emergency blade.

LT20: which board for which Toyota, Lexus or Subaru

The LT20 family covers the Toyota smart-key generations that use the 4D (80-bit), 8A (128-bit) and 8A-BA transponder boards. The tool decides the chip type at generation, so the question is only which board fits the shell and the year. Every LT20 board has adjustable frequency, so one board serves both 312/314 MHz US and 433 MHz market variants.

LT20-10-68A + BA6Toyota and Lexus 2020–2024HYQ14FBX

Read the table this way. Older 4D smart-key Toyotas and Subarus (roughly 2006–2015) take the LT20-03. 8A-era vehicles take the LT20-02 (Subaru 4-button), LT20-05 (Sienna 6-button) or LT20-07 (Lexus 4-button). The 8A-BA boards, LT20-10-4, -10-5 and -10-6, are for the 2020-on Toyota, Lexus and Subaru systems that use the HYQ14FBX-shell keys; pick the button count the shell has. The FCC page for that family is /fcc/hyq14fbx, and the Sienna board matches the HYQ14ADR shell.

Two LT20-02 listings exist, one referenced by the HYQ14AHK shell and one by the Subaru part number 88835-FL03B. They are the same board specification; buy whichever is in stock. Use the vehicle's original key and the tool's Toyota list to confirm 4D versus 8A before ordering, and see the Toyota key fob programming guide for the OBD side of the job.

KW100 and KW100-S: generating LT20 keys without a K518

The Lonsdor KW100 is a compact Bluetooth programmer built for one purpose: generating LT20 boards for Toyota and Lexus in both add-key and all-keys-lost work. It reads the chip type, generates the board as the matching 8A or 4D key, and hands off to the vehicle programming step. It is the low-cost entry into LT20 for a shop that does not own a K518.

If you already run a K518ISE, K518 Pro or K518S, the LT20 generation is built in and the KW100 is optional.

LT30: the 4A Toyota board

The LT30-02 is a 4-button universal smart key PCB for select 2022–2024 Toyota vehicles that moved to the 4A transponder. The listing gives 312.09 MHz and 314.35 MHz support and no generation limit on the board. It is not interchangeable with LT20: an 8A-BA vehicle needs LT20-10, a 4A vehicle needs LT30. Confirm which one the vehicle uses from its original key or the tool's list. Product: Lonsdor LT30-02.

FO30 vs FO3H: the frequency split on Ford-style keys

Both series are Ford-style smart keys generated by the K518 for supported vehicles. The difference is the radio band. FO30 boards run on 315/433 MHz and can be generated as ID46, ID47 or ID4A keys, which covers the bulk of North American proximity work in a Ford-style shell. FO3H boards run on 868/902 MHz and are generated as ID46 or ID49 keys, for the 902 MHz Ford systems and other high-band vehicles the tool lists. Choose by the vehicle's band first, then by button count. The Ford side of the frequency question is explained in Ford key fob programming.

FAQ

Which Lonsdor board do I need for a 2018 Lexus smart key?

The LT20-07 is the Lexus 2017–2020 8A board in the HYQ14FBF shell layout. Confirm the year and the original key's chip on the tool before ordering, because Lexus trims moved to 8A-BA boards from 2020.

What is the difference between LT20 and LT30?

LT20 boards are generated as 4D, 8A or 8A-BA keys and cover Toyota, Lexus and Subaru smart-key systems up to about 2025. LT30 is a separate board for the 4A transponder used on select 2022–2024 Toyotas and is not a substitute for LT20.

Do I need a K518 to use LT20 boards?

No. The KW100 is a stand-alone Bluetooth programmer that generates LT20 boards for Toyota and Lexus in add-key and all-keys-lost work. The K518 series also generates them if you already own one.

FO30 or FO3H for a Ford?

Check the vehicle's frequency. FO30 is the 315/433 MHz key generated as ID46, ID47 or ID4A; FO3H is the 868/902 MHz key generated as ID46 or ID49. A 902 MHz Ford needs FO3H.

Does an LT20 board come with a shell?

No. LT20 and LT30 are bare PCBs, so you supply the matching Toyota, Lexus or Subaru shell, emergency blade and CR2032. FO30, FO3H, HD30, NS30, CL30 and LK50 are complete keys.

Are Lonsdor universal keys genuine OEM?

No. They are aftermarket universal keys generated with the Lonsdor tool for supported vehicles. Where a genuine OEM key is required, check the OEM hub for the vehicle.
