Ford M3N-A2C and N5F-A08TBLP Fobs: Years, Buttons, Frequencies

Every Ford and Lincoln M3N smart key and N5F flip key in the catalog, sorted by year, button count and 315 / 434 / 902 MHz band

Car Key Source Trade DeskSeptember 12, 2026 7 min read
Ford flip key fob with FCC ID label

Ford's current fobs fall into two families. M3N-A2C… codes are the PEPS smart keys from 2014 onward: M3N-A2C31243300 (2014–2018 Explorer, MKC, MKX and 2015–2017 F-Series, 902 MHz, 49 chip), M3N-A2C31243800 (2015–2017 Edge, Explorer, Fusion, 315 MHz), M3N-A2C93142300 (2017–2021, 315 MHz, 3- and 4-button) and M3N-A2C93142600 (2017–2022, 902 MHz, 4- and 5-button), followed by M3N-A2C940780, M3N-A3C054339 and M3N-A3C108397. N5F-A08… codes are the flip keys with a 49 chip: N5F-A08TAA (2015–2023, 315 MHz), N5F-A08TDA (2015–2022 F-Series and Ranger, 902 MHz) and N5F-A08TBLP (2023 F-Series, 434 MHz) — the most-searched code on Car Key Source. Frequency is the trap on Ford: 315, 434 and 902 MHz versions of the same-looking key are not interchangeable.

N5F-A08TBLP: the 2023 F-Series flip key

N5F-A08TBLP has been the single most-searched FCC ID on the site. It is the 2023 Super Duty and F-150 flip key that replaced the N5F-A08TAA and N5F-A08TDA on the new trucks, and it moved to 434 MHz. Two versions are stocked, both PCF7945F / HITAG PRO / 49 chip, both aftermarket:

42023 F-150, F-2505945868 (164-R8337)4-button N5F-A08TBLP

Three details matter. First, the frequency: 434 MHz, where the older N5F-A08TAA is 315 MHz and N5F-A08TDA is 902 MHz. A truck built for one will ignore the others even though the shells look alike. Second, the button count: the 4-button adds remote start, so a base-trim truck with a 3-button original should get the 3-button. Third, the seven-digit numbers (5945864, 5945868) are what many parts counters quote, so keep them next to the FCC ID. FCC page: /fcc/n5f-a08tblp. If the customer's key says N5F-A08TAA or N5F-A08TDA instead, see the flip-key table below.

Ford flip keys: N5F-A08TAA, N5F-A08TDA, N5F-A08TBLP

All three are flip keys with a 49 chip (HITAG PRO), so they program the same way; only the radio changes. The catalog lists the N5F-A08TAA 3-button on the HU101 keyway.

N5F-A08TBLP4343 / 42023 F-150, F-250 to F-5505945864, 5945868see above

A useful rule from the catalog: on 2015–2022 trucks, the 3-button is 315 MHz (TAA) and the 4-button with remote start is 902 MHz (TDA). Confirm on the vehicle, since fleet and regional builds vary.

Ford and Lincoln smart keys: the M3N-A2C and M3N-A3C series

All are aftermarket with an NCF2951F or NCF29A1 / HITAG PRO / 49 chip. The suffix after M3N-A2C or M3N-A3C is the supplier's design number; each one is tied to a frequency and a button layout.

The pattern that holds across the table: within one generation, the 3- and 4-button keys without remote start are 315 MHz and the 4- and 5-button keys with remote start are 902 MHz. The 2023+ keys (M3N-A3C108397, N5F-A08TBLP) break that pattern by moving to 434 MHz. FCC pages exist for every code here, for example /fcc/m3n-a2c31243300 and /fcc/m3n-a2c93142300.

The 46-chip generation before M3N-A2C: M3N5WY8609 and M3N5WY8406

Before the 49-chip keys, Ford and Lincoln PEPS vehicles used a 315 MHz smart key with a PCF7952A or PCF7953A / HITAG 2 / 46 chip: M3N5WY8406 for 2009–2012 Taurus, MKS and MKT (PN 5912477, 5911175, 164-R7034; product) and M3N5WY8609 / M3N5WY8610 for 2011–2019 Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, Flex, Focus, Taurus, MKS, MKT, MKX and Navigator (PN BT4T-15K601-HC, 164-R8092, 5921286, 5921288) in 5-button and 4-button form. Where the year ranges overlap with M3N-A2C keys (2014–2019 Explorer, for example), the vehicle's trim and build decide which one it takes; verify against the vehicle.

CWTWB1U793 and OUC6000022: the remote head keys

CWTWB1U793 is listed alongside OUC6000022 on one 4-button remote head key for 2005–2012 Expedition, Explorer, F-150 to F-750, Lincoln MKX, Navigator and the Mazda and Mercury equivalents: 315 MHz, 4D-63+ DST80 chip, PN 164-R8067, 5912561 (product). Its car-line sibling is OUCD6000022 — note the D — for 2006–2011 Fusion, Taurus, Edge, Flex, Mustang and Lincoln/Mercury (product) and 2012–2019 C-Max, Escape, F-250/F-350, Fiesta, Focus, Transit (product). All are 4D-63 80-bit keys. The older CWTWB1U311 family (1998–2011, no chip, 315 MHz) is a plain remote (product). KR5TP-4, which sometimes gets grouped with Ford codes in searches, is a Honda FCC ID and is covered in Honda 72147 part numbers explained.

Universal boards that cover the Ford smart keys

Lonsdor's Ford-style FO30 boards are listed as ID46 / ID47 / ID4A at 315/433 MHz, and the FO3H boards as 868/902 MHz for the high-band keys — for example the FO30-03 3-button, FO30-02 5-button and FO3H-0D 5-button 902. Match the frequency band and button layout to the original before choosing one; the Lonsdor universal smart keys guide explains the numbering.

FAQ

Is N5F-A08TBLP the same as N5F-A08TAA?

No. Both are Ford 49-chip flip keys, but N5F-A08TBLP is the 2023 F-Series key at 434 MHz, while N5F-A08TAA is the 2015–2023 key at 315 MHz. A truck built for one will not respond to the other.

How do I know if a Ford smart key is 315 or 902 MHz?

In the catalog, keys without remote start (3- and 4-button M3N-A2C31243800 and M3N-A2C93142300) are 315 MHz and keys with remote start (M3N-A2C31243300, M3N-A2C93142600, M3N-A2C940780, M3N-A3C054339) are 902 MHz. Check the original fob's label or the customer's second key when in doubt.

What chip do the M3N-A2C keys use?

Every M3N-A2C and M3N-A3C row is listed with a 49 chip (HITAG PRO, NCF2951F or NCF29A1). The earlier M3N5WY8609 and M3N5WY8406 keys use a 46 chip (HITAG 2).

Which Ford key fits a 2016 Explorer?

The catalog lists three possibilities depending on trim: M3N-A2C31243300 (4-button, 902 MHz), M3N-A2C31243800 (4-button, 315 MHz) or the 46-chip M3N5WY8609. Read the FCC ID off the existing key or verify against the vehicle before ordering.

Is OUC6000022 a Ford or GM code?

Ford. It is the 2005–2012 F-Series, Expedition and Explorer 4-button remote head key (also marked CWTWB1U793). The GM remote with a similar prefix is OUC60270.
