Autel Universal Smart Keys — MAXIIM IKEY
MAXIIM IKEY — fewer part numbers, heavier build. Generated on Autel IM-series tablets or the KM100, stocked for the trade, and in-stock orders placed by 4 PM ET Mon–Fri ship the same day.
Autel's universal line is the MAXIIM IKEY series: proximity smart keys in a standard body and in vehicle-style bodies, three to six buttons, with remote-start and power-liftgate variants. It is a shorter list of part numbers than Xhorse, which some shops prefer — fewer decisions at the counter and fewer near-identical boxes on the shelf.
The build is the usual reason people move across. IKEY shells are heavier in the hand than most aftermarket proximity keys, and the button feel holds up, which matters when the key is going to a customer who is paying dealer-adjacent money for it.
What catches people out is not the key, it is the adapter. A KM100 generates IKEY on its own, but an IM508 will not even show you the IKEY menu unless an XP400 Pro is plugged in. Check the table below against your own kit before you order a box of them.
What generates a Autel universal key
The platforms are closed to each other — a blank generates on its own brand's tool, and no firmware update crosses that line.
| Tool | What it needs to generate IKEY |
|---|---|
| MaxiIM KM100 | Nothing extra — the KM100 is the dedicated IKEY generator |
| MaxiIM IM508 | XP400 Pro required — the IKEY menu does not appear without it |
| MaxiIM IM608 | XP400 or XP400 Pro |
| MaxiIM IM608 Pro | XP400 Pro |
Firmware floor: IMMO Program V3.94 or above (the KM100 is exempt).
